This site doesn’t take messages. The conversation happens in two communities run by former members: one on Reddit, one on Facebook.
An open forum. Anyone can read along, with or without an account. Ask questions, share documents or describe what you went through, under a username of your choice.
A private Facebook group for former members and their families, from churches around the world. You ask to join, and posts stay inside the group.
Both communities are public in the sense that you don’t control who reads along. Current members read them too. A few habits keep you and others safe.
Potter’s House Cult is an archive, not a help desk. It doesn’t collect messages, personal stories or contact details through this site. That protects readers, and it keeps the archive independent.
If you want to talk to someone about your own experience, a professional or a person you trust is the best place to start. The Resources page lists organizations that can help.
To follow new articles, like the Potter’s House Cult page on Facebook or subscribe to the newsletter at the bottom of any article.
This site works without cookies. With your consent, we also use statistics and marketing cookies from Google and Meta to see which articles are read and to measure our Facebook posts. Nothing is placed until you choose. You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings”.
